Laura Nys

After graduating in History from Ghent University in 2014, Laura worked on a research project about socialist Workers’ Houses in European cities. She is currently completing her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gita Deneckere at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Department of History, Ghent University, and Prof. Dr. Jenneke Christiaens Department of Criminology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her PhD examines the role of emotions in Belgian state reformatories for delinquent minors (1890-1965). Her research interests are the social history of emotions, gender history, and the history of youth.
