Carla Avanzi

Carla Avanzi is a PhD candidate at Vrije Univesiteit Brussel (VUB) in Criminology and at State University of Londrina in Sociology. She holds a master’s degree in Sociology (20) at State University of Londrina. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law (2013) and in Social Sciences (2021). Her doctoral thesis focuses on the construction of the institutional image of the Federal Police of Brazil. Her main scientific interests are in the domains of public security, police institutions and media. She is a member of the Laboratory of Studies on Security Governance (LEGS/UEL) and of the OAB/Londrina Human Rights Defense Commission. She’s supervised by Prof. Dr. Cleber da Silva Lopes and Prof. Dr. Lucas Melgaço.
