In Belgium, as in many other countries, police services are currently undergoing profound transformations driven by digitalisation processes. This conference aims to present and discuss the findings of an empirical research project examining the digitalisation of policing, the evolution of police officers' daily work, and the ways in which technology is reshaping the exercise of police functions in the field.
The conference is organised by the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (NICC, FPS Justice), the Crime & Society Research Group (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), the Laboratoire d’Anthropologie des Mondes Contemporains, and the Centre de Recherche Pénalité, Sécurité et Déviances (Université libre de Bruxelles), in collaboration with the Centre d’Études sur la Police.
