Lies Vande Meulebroucke
Biography
I'm a PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel within the Criminology department. I hold a master's degree in Criminology (UGent) and I am currently still following two postgraduate courses: one in Forensic investigation at the Erasmushogeschool and one in Forensic psychiatry and psychology at the University of Antwerp. I'm interested in topics related to the police, like digitalisation/the use of technologies within the police, and forensic investigation.
I am a part of the research consortium of the DIGIPOL-project (funded by Belspo), which consists researchers from the NICC, ULB and VUB. The project aims to study the impact of the process of digitalisation on the Belgian local police. The research involves participatory observations and semi-directive interviews. Based on the project, a doctoral dissertation will be drawn up under the supervision of Prof Dr. Sofie De Kimpe and Prof dr. Lucas Melgaço.
