Sofie De Bus

Sofie De Bus holds a Master of Science in Criminology (2009), a PhD in Criminology (2018), and a Master of Laws (2019). She worked as guest lecturer in the Criminology Department. She conducted studies on gendered practices within the youth court from an intersectionality perspective and on the role of the juvenile attorney towards Roma minors in delinquency cases. Her current research interests lie in juvenile justice practices and actors, Romani and vulnerable minors in contact with the juvenile justice system, gender, intersectionality and law, and family law. She is attached to RHEA, the Centre of Expertise Gender, Diversity and Intersectionality (VUB) and is a member of the Working Group Gender, Crime & Justice (European Society of Criminology).
