Anna Vansteenkiste

Anna graduated as a social worker from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and subsequently obtained a master's degree in criminology. She is a researcher at CriS, where her work focuses on forensic social work, risk assessment and risk-informed practice, the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) model, and evidence-based interventions within criminal justice settings. Her research particularly explores how scientific knowledge can be translated into practical tools and guidance that support professionals in working effectively with justice-involved individuals.
Drawing on both research and practice, Anna is involved in developing evidence-based probation practices, training materials, and guidance on topics such as risk assessment, case formulation and professional decision-making.
