Ellen Van de Riet

Ellen Van de Riet graduated in 2021 as a Master in Criminological Sciences at the University of Brussels (VUB). She is currently a PhD researcher on the project 'Age Matters: Unpacking the Role of Advanced Age in Penal Decision-Making', under the supervision of prof. dr. Diete Humblet and prof. dr. Lars Breuls. She focuses on how key judicial actors engage with, and decide on cases involving older defendants.
