Laure Deschuyteneer

Laure Deschuyteneer holds a master's degree in criminology, which she obtained in 2023. Shortly thereafter, she embarked on her academic career at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) as a PhD researcher.

Her current research focus revolves around exploring alternatives to migration detention, with a particular emphasis on programs of voluntary return and the complex interplay between soft penal power and migration control.
