Sigrid Raets

Sigrid Raets is a researcher and PhD candidate. She holds a Master's degree in Criminology. In 2017, she worked as a research fellow on the FINOCA 2.0 project at Ghent University. This European research project focused on the financing of organised crime activities related to human trafficking. As of 2018, Sigrid is working on her doctoral thesis which deals with the subject of desistance from violent extremism. This doctoral research project is conducted at Ghent University. Currently, she is conducting a research project at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel on training orders in Flanders. Sigrid is also interested and actively engaged in various research activities concerning the subjects of terrorism, organised crime, and offender reintegration.
